Earlier this year, West Virginia passed legislation making the entire state “wet” for off-premises sales of spirits and wine, subject to certain requirements. The localities that may receive direct wine shipments are expanded as a result of this change. As of July 1, 2020, all locations in West Virginia, other than Brandonville in Preston County and the entirety of Calhoun County, are open and eligible to receive DTC wine sales and shipment. As was the case before the law change, the proper DTC license must be obtained from ABCA and monthly sales reports must be filed. Zip codes for addresses in Brandonville and Calhoun County and additional requirements for shipping DTC into West Virginia are available on the WV DTC page on the Wine Institute website.
