South Dakota New Direct Shipment Report

The South Dakota Department of Revenue has released a new version of its Direct Shipment Report which now includes a column for the common carrier tracking number to be included for each shipment. Wineries can download the new Direct Shipment Report Template prepared by the Department from the Wine Institute website (located on the South Dakota page under Relevant Documents) or create their own form with a column for the tracking number. All reports, returns and payments must be submitted electronically through EPath, the department’s online platform. Paper and emailed reports will not be accepted.

Wineries that hold a South Dakota Direct Wine Shipper license must file quarterly reports and sales and excise tax payments with the South Dakota Department of Revenue on or before the 15th day of the month following each quarterly period (April 15, July 15, Nov. 15 and Jan. 15).
