New Online Label Registration Available in Louisiana

The Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) last week announced the procedures for registering labels under its new online system. (ATC is now responsible for all label registrations for member wineries—which no longer need to register labels with the Department of Health.) Louisiana is utilizing the Product Registration Online (PRO) system already in use in a number of other states. The new application process can be done at the ATC website found here: https://la.productregistrationonline.com/registration/login.

The fee for label approvals has been reduced from $27 to $5 for each unique COLA. In order to continue selling existing labels into the state, ATC is requiring a list of the COLA numbers that wineries wish to sell by Jan. 1, 2016, and these can be registered in bulk. All registrations are valid for one calendar year. Labels that are registered prior to Jan. 1, 2016 will be valid through Dec. 31, 2016. PRO is offering assistance in uploading currently sold labels; contact their PRO support team at: http://support.productregistrationonline.com.
