The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has made available the online application for its new Fulfillment House License. The license is required of any company taking physical possession of or handling logistics on behalf of a winery direct shipper, including warehousing, packaging, order fulfillment or delivering to a common carrier for shipment to a consumer. Fulfillment houses must be issued a Fulfillment House License to lawfully handle or ship wine to Tennessee residents when the new law goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2022. To obtain this new license, a complete application must be submitted to the TABC no later than Dec. 2. This will ensure that the application appears on the Dec. 16 commission meeting agenda.
The new law also requires winery direct shippers to submit quarterly reports showing information for each shipment of wine into the state, including information related to any fulfillment house and common carrier involved in each shipment starting Jan. 1, 2022.
